Coatings

High Country Roofing remains current and educated in all roofing systems, and coatings are no exception.  The concept of coating your roofing system is a simple one.  Liquid roofing material is sprayed or rolled right onto your existing roof system (whether your current roof type is TPO, PVC, EPDM, built-up, bitumen, metal, or concrete). By covering the existing structure with a long-lasting roof coating system, you can waterproof it, make it more resilient to severe weather fluctuations like heat and cold, and increase the lifespan of your roofing system.

Benefits of Coating your Roofing System

  1. Coating your existing roofing system is significantly less expensive than a roofing system replacement.
  2. Coatings may be applied quickly to your existing structure.  Additionally, they can be applied to multiple roofing styles, like domed, flat, or irregularly shaped.
  3. No need for a tear off to replace.  This keeps your business up and running.  Roof coatings may be applied to many different roofing systems and materials.
  4. For longevity, roof coating reduces wear and tear, resists weathering and makes your roofing system structure last much longer. In some instances, literally decades of lifespan can be added to the existing roof.
  5. Energy conservation, by coating your roofing system, you will reduce the power needed to cool your building. This results in additional energy savings in your pocket.

Silicon Coatings

Of course, spray foam is not the only type of coating we do.  We offer rubberized and elastomeric coating options for your roofing system as well.

Rubberized coatings seal in your existing roofing system, making it waterproof and resistant to weather changes. Just like spray foam, it increases the lifespan of your existing roofing system, reduces, or eliminates leaks and can increase energy savings.

Elastomeric Coatings

Elastomeric coatings are made of acrylic, rather than silicone.  This acrylic is generally thinner than the silicone based rubberized coatings, yet still able to stand up to foot traffic while doing an outstanding job of protecting roof system surfaces.

Like all coating systems, elastomeric coating “waterproofs” your roofing system.  Applied as a single layer, the monolithic nature of this single layer protects the existing roof from rain, hail, UV, and other weather-related damage.

Spray Foam and Coatings

Spray foam systems combine spray foam with roof coatings that are applied on top. The spray form portion is a polyurethane solution, applied in liquid form to existing roofing systems. This liquid then reacts chemically to release gases in a way that provides multi-cell foam.  This type of foam is made up of closed cells, which do not absorb water and suspended aluminum particles.  This dynamic combination ensures waterproofing, while reducing energy consumption by trapping in heat during the winter and A/C during the summer.

Spray Foam can be applied to almost any existing roofing system or roofing style. Its longevity reduces damage from generalized weather and improves the look of your building over the long term.

Ponding is an issue with just about any roofing system.  However, spray foam expands, filling dips and waves in roofing construction, reducing the incidence of ponding.
